The "Mitchell" reel I am selling is in good working condition, with no broken parts. There is some paint loss , but for a reel of this age, I believe it to be better than most. According to my research, this reel is either the 2nd or 3rd version (1940-1949) of the Mitchell spinning reel. My reasons for saying this is the word Garcia is not on the reel and there are no serial numbers on the foot, simply a letter T. See the article I attached in the pictures. If I am in error, please let me know. But also back up what you are saying. I love learning about old fishing gear, and I am not ashamed to admit I am wrong.

Still has all the original birth parts only thing I added was a Mitchell shim to adjust rotating head to baffle plate and a fiber washer for the spool drag, it was missing. The grease was replace with a Multi-Purpose Synthetic Grease that I use on all my reel rebuilds.

The pre serial reel is complete, it has a full bail and works good. There is some cosmetic scuffs (photos) the 300 is missing a handle and also works good. The 308 is missing part of the handle and works good. I've never used these reels but I am a fisherman and everything looks to be in working order.
