ZAP DX Electric Bicycle Controller/ Motor I got this DX motor from a used bike. But no controller, I then ordered the controller from ZAP and used it for about 5 minutes then decided the ZAP system sucked so I went and bought a Bionx. This was wired to the motor then cut. So the plugs are cut off the ends. I think I spent about $150 on it when I ordered it. The DX motor, seemed that only one side of the motor worked, maybe this is the incorrect controller for it. This is a 2012 Salsa Mamasita 29er aluminum frame. The frame has only a couple hundred miles on it. But mostly casual trail miles. It has standard wear marks on it, the worst of which are covered in the photos. The drivetrain had chain suck once or twice so there is a few chips on the chain stay where you'd expect them. The drops outs have some markings from the quick release and standard trail use. Other than that, there are no dents or dings. Included with the frame is a Cane Creek 40 tapered headset. The Mac Geared Hub motor uses a 32 magnet. 16 pole motor unlike the vast majority of Geared motors on the Market which use an 8 pole motor. This further improves torque, but does mean that the electrical rpm or commutation frequency is higher than typical geared motors and much higher than Direct-Drive motors. An internal 5:1 planetary gear with clutch is implemented with stronger composite gears that are now standard on the 500W motors to ensure a long trouble free life. The gear reduction allows the motor to spin at a higher and more efficient rpm which greatly improves the starting torque and hill climbing ability when compared with comparable Direct-Drive motors. The bike is only three years old. This is the large frame(55 cm) I'm 6'1" and it fits me great(range of 5'10"6'3" The bike meets all the rules and regs for most bike paths. So take it wherever you need to go! It truly does"flatten" the hills(even fairly steep ones) and definitely helped keep me from showing up for work a sweaty mess. Bought in 2012 new 2009 model they never sold at a local bike store great condition battery is at about 85% I can ride for 2hrs before I plug it in. It has 21 gear/speed settings but I keep it mostly in 7th because it seems to be comfortable to start out there then I'm not peddling to fast when I need to keep it moving with another peddels. Peddling in 7th gear without effort I can do 18 to 20 mph easy across a field or up a 30% grade hill. It can do 27 easy downhill and with some effort on flat ground. Check the bike laws in your state. I found that in Pa. my state under 20 mph is treated as any regular bike(because this is a pedal assisted system. You first have to start peddling you choose the Handel bar controller 3 different levels of boost) and other options. Everything is in great ... moreworking condition! because this is a pedal assisted system, you first have to start peddling to get the different levels of boost up to 4) but after a peddle it takes off, it like being pushed along no noise great way to save gas. I lost my license that's why I got it now I have it back, but I love this bike only because my business is not doing well at the time I'm forced to sell. it's a great deal for someone.This Bionx system is top of the line comes with a smart charger just plug it in and it will auto shutoff when charge so you can't hurt the battery by over charging.
