From a visual perspective this film is shot extremely well with some great usage of stills also. The setting. Hampi, is a field of dreams for those that love bouldering and obviously now is no secret. The movie seeks to give bouldering a higher purpose and the dialogue by those participating goes along the lines of being one with the rock. To further signify that bouldering is something of a holy rite of passage the problems are named but no mention of grades at all. If the dialogue is to be believed then it offers some interesting viewpoints and perspectives. But it is not overbearing to the point ... morewhere you cringe. The bouldering itself is extemely impressive. And there is plenty of jaw jopping lines undertaken, many of which are FA. SCREAM OF STONE DVD A Film by Werner Herzog Scream of Stone is a 1991 film directed by Werner Herzog about a climbing expedition on Cerro Torre. The film was shot on location at Cerro Torre. With several scenes filmed close to the summit. The script was written principally by longtime Herzog production designer Walter Saxer. Based on an idea from mountaineer Reinhold Messner, who Herzog had worked with in his documentary The Dark Glow of the Mountains(which we also have available on DVD) 102 minutes long. This copy was imported by us from South Korea. Which is one of the few countries that uses"Region 1" type DVD s, the same as the USA, Canada, Japan, and much of South America.
