Avid Juicy 5 Brakes There brakes are used and in decent shape. The front brake is in perfect working order. The pads are worn. But the brakes come with a replacement set up brand new pads. The rear brake has some issues. The caliper may need a new piston. One of the pistons doesn’t hold the pad that well anymore. The brake still functions, and it has never ejected a pad. It may work as it is for you. There is also an issue with the lever. I seal blew out on the lever. A bit of fluid corroded around the seal. A new seal fixed the issue, but it’s not perfect. If you have any questions, ask. I have described these to the best of my ability. Included with the sale is what is pictured, and nothing more.

I've had these for a while. And have decided to pass them on. They appear to have been installed. But never ridden as the pads look new and still have the flashing. The original LX brake pads, the straddle cables, and the mounting bolts. I will also include two pairs(enough for 1 bike) of new Kool Stop hi performance light weight brake pads(Kool Stop model number KS-CXCT) All you would need to complete installation would be cantilever type levers and brake cable! This brake set is pre-owned but in good cosmetic shape and great mechanical shape. All springs(inside the brake arms) work as they should. There are two things I'd like to highlight: 1. one of the grey end caps has popped off of one of the brake arm assemblies and(2. one of the washers on another brake arm shows some wear. Front and rear Dia Compe BRS 400 brake calipers for road bikes. Form meets simplicity and function for these early 90's brake calipers. These were my calipers of choice for good reason. The specs on these state they weigh approximately 130 grams each with pads. If you're into the light weight thing then another reason these are fantastic calipers. My rickety inaccurate scale weighs them. With pads, in at 4 oz's each which is about 114 grams. Reach is 37 to 47 mm. For sale is an outstanding. LIKE NEW set of Avid BB5 road disc brakes with all necessary/ manufacturer hardware.
